Charles Huijskens

Charles Huijskens holds a university degree in Dutch language and literature. He subsequently worked as a journalist, covering domestic politics for the largest daily newspaper the Telegraaf and Dutch TV news ('NOS Journaal'). He started his own consulting firm in 1992, which has later become Huijskens Communications.

Charles Huijskens frequently writes about public relations. He is a columnist for the Cobouw and Adformatie magazines and he co-authored the 'Media Handboek' with Dig Istha. This manual is considered as a guide on how to handle press relations. Earlier, Charles wrote 'Majesty and Media' in which described the relationship between the royal family and the press. Besides writing, Charles also teaches at the Dutch 'Clingendael' institute for international affairs and at the Ministry of Defence IDL training institute ('Instituut Defensie Leergangen').

Charles Huijskens is a (non-executive) supervisory board member of the Dorned engineering firm (Ingenieursbureau Dorned BV) and member of the Utrecht Museum for Aboriginal Arts advisory council.
