Charles Huijskens founded the firm in 1992. He is among the leading specialists in crisis communications in the Netherlands, and has extensive experience in financial and M&A communications. His clients include LibertyGlobal, VodafoneZiggo, ABN Amro, and Chemours.

Charles is a former political journalist. He was a correspondent in The Hague for De Telegraaf, the largest Dutch national newspaper, and later a political reporter for Dutch national TV news, the NOS Journaal. Charles has written several books on communications and PR. | Linkedin

Clemens Sassen | Partner

Clemens Sassen has a great deal of experience and expertise in the field of corporate communications, ranging from stakeholder management to crisis communications. In his time as an employee of Huijskens Communications, he specialized in financial communications. Companies from various industries dealing with M&As, activist shareholders or impending bankruptcies are the type of clients he advises.

Alongside his political MA degree, Clemens holds an Executive Master Corporate Communications. In this context, he researched the communications of activist shareholders with listed companies in the Netherlands. In addition, Clemens is active as Deputy Chairman in the CDA Amsterdam board. Maarten van de Pavoordt | Senior Advisor

Maarten van de Pavoordt advises directors and organisations on issues of strategic corporate communication. In a rapidly changing world, it is of vital importance for organisations to be able to explain and justify their goals, actions and right to exist. Maarten is interested in the complex challenges clients face as a result of societal and political developments.

Maarten has been part of the team at Huijskens Communications since September 2019. Previously he worked at Egon Zehnder, where he gained broad experience in advisory work on leadership issues and sustainability. He started his career as journalist/editor of the investment report The Business Year, Qatar. Evi Timp | Advisor

Evi Timp has been a member of our team since march 2019. Before this, she worked as a journalist for HP/De Tijd. Her experience in journalism gave her an excellent understanding of the world of the media and the way the press operates. She uses her skills as a writer to write press releases, texts and manuals for Huijskens Communications.

Lynnemore van Ommen | Advisor

Lynnemore van Ommen has joined our team in July 2019. Before working at Huijskens Communications she worked as a communication manager at SWOCC (Foundation for Scientific Research on Commercial Communication). The experience Lynnemore gained in this position, allows her to understand how to best appeal to a diverse audience and to make complex information accessible.

Emmy Pinckaers | Junior Advisor

Emmy Pinckaers is junior advisor at Huijskens Communications. Thanks to her studies in Public Management and Organisation Science at Utrecht University, she possesses wide-ranging knowledge of social issues and the role of communications in the interaction between private companies, governments, and politics.

Freek van Amerongen | Junior Advisor

Freek van Amerongen is a junior consultant at Huijskens Communications. As former working student at Ebbinge, he has gained relevant experience in advising various organizations strategically.

Ricardo Kooman | Research analyst

Ricardo Kooman is a research analyst at Huijskens Communications. Thanks to his legal academic background as well as his previous professional experience at law firms in the Netherlands and abroad, he has a sound knowledge of litigation. At Huijskens Communications, Ricardo is responsible for conducting scientific research on class action lawsuits.

Ricardo holds a Bachelor's degree in Global Law (LLB) from Tilburg University, where he is currently studying Dutch Corporate Law (LLM). In his spare time, Ricardo is an active member of the legal study association Magister JFT and he contributes to his local community as a youth football coach.

Our training courses are mainly provided by Peter de Bie, a successful radio maker, documentarist and the former Editor in Chief of TV programme ‘Radar’.
