Charles Huijskens | Managing Partner
Charles Huijskens founded the firm in 1992. He is among the leading specialists in crisis communications in the Netherlands, and has extensive experience in financial and M&A communications. His clients include LibertyGlobal, VodafoneZiggo, ABN Amro, and Chemours.
Charles is a former political journalist. He was a correspondent in The Hague for De Telegraaf, the largest Dutch national newspaper, and later a political reporter for Dutch national TV news, the NOS Journaal. Charles has written several books on communications and PR.
Harmen Geers | Partner
Harmen Geers has 14 years of experience with corporate communications at the cutting edge. In many transactions, legal cases and crises, he has supported the main actors and taken care of the communication to stakeholders and the public – in the Netherlands and abroad. Furthermore, he has helped companies and organisations to show their right image to the outside world.
As Head of Media Relations at APG, one of the world’s largest investment organisations, Harmen was responsible for worldwide corporate communications until 2018. Previously, from 2004 to 2010, he worked as an advisor at Huijskens Communications. Harmen is co-founder of O3NL, the successful mentoring program for entrepreneurs that is linked to the Venture Mentoring Service at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Clemens Sassen | Partner
Clemens Sassen has a great deal of experience and expertise in the field of corporate communications, ranging from stakeholder management to crisis communications. In his time as an employee of Huijskens Communications, he specialized in financial communications. Companies from various industries dealing with M&As, activist shareholders or impending bankruptcies are the type of clients he advises.
Alongside his political MA degree, Clemens holds an Executive Master Corporate Communications. In this context, he researched the communications of activist shareholders with listed companies in the Netherlands. In addition, Clemens is active as Deputy Chairman in the CDA Amsterdam board. He is also part of the national campaign team for that political party.
Arthur van Amerongen | Adviseur
Arthur van Amerongen advises companies on reputation management, crisis communications and litigation communications. Current clients include parties active in real estate and financial services as well as industrial companies.
Arthur rejoined the Huijskens Communications team in April 2017. Previously, he did an internship at Huijskens Communications and he gained further experience at Burson-Marsteller in The Hague. He studied European studies at the University of Amsterdam (BA) and European Union Studies at Leiden University (MA).
Evi Timp | Adviseur
Evi Timp has been a member of our team since march 2019. Before this, she worked as a journalist for HP/De Tijd. Her experience in journalism gave her an excellent understanding of the world of the media and the way the press operates. She uses her skills as a writer to write press releases, texts and manuals for Huijskens Communications.
Evi studied Communications (2014) and History (2015-2018) at the University of Amsterdam. She completed her first year in Communication Science in 2014. After that she studied History and graduated with a Masters degree (MA) in International Relations.
Lynnemore van Ommen | Adviseur
Lynnemore van Ommen has joined our team in July 2019. Before working at Huijskens Communications she worked as a communication manager at SWOCC (Foundation for Scientific Research on Commercial Communication). The experience Lynnemore gained in this position, allows her to understand how to best appeal to a diverse audience and to make complex information accessible.
Lynnemore graduated in Communication Science (BSc) and Political Communication (MSc) at the University of Amsterdam. In addition, she obtained a Masters in Journalism and Media at the University of Rotterdam.
Peter de Bie | Trainer
Our training courses are mainly provided by Peter de Bie, a successful radio maker, documentarist and the former Editor in Chief of TV programme ‘Radar’. He is known for, amongst other things, the popular radio programme ‘Nieuwsweekend’, which broadcasts on Saturday morning on NPO Radio 1.
Marja Boonen | Finance
Marja Boonen is the head of our finance department. Since our agency was founded, Marja has been involved with Huijskens Communications and with more than 25 years of experience, she leads the team responsible for financial affairs at our office.
